What Happened to the Boy Who Built the Time Machine?
Have you ever wondered what would happen if you accidentally invented a time machine? Today, I’m sharing a fascinating story about a man named Mike Macken who might have done just that.
The Beginning
In 1995, Mike Macken was a 21-year-old electrical engineering graduate from Missouri, USA. He loved playing with electrical gadgets and spent a lot of time experimenting with them. Even though he was very smart, he couldn’t find a job that suited his skills. This made him more determined to create something amazing.
Playing with Jacob’s Ladder
One of Mike’s experiments involved a device called Jacob’s Ladder. This device creates a high-voltage electric arc that climbs upwards between two V-shaped wires. One day, while experimenting, Mike noticed a circular heat mark. He placed a screw on it and saw the screw disappear for a moment before reappearing a few feet away. This made Mike think he had discovered a way to make objects travel through time.
Dreaming of a Time Machine
Mike dreamed of building a time machine to travel to the future, win the lottery, and fund more experiments. But he needed more power and better equipment. Desperate for resources, Mike stole transformers from a local power station, which caused a huge explosion and a power outage. He was arrested on January 29, 1995, and spent several months in jail after admitting to the theft.
Public Interest
Mike’s story captured public attention. He was invited to a radio show where he talked about his experiments. Many people were fascinated and offered to help by giving him money and spare parts. This support encouraged Mike to continue his work on the time machine.
Progress and Disappearance
By 1996, Mike was back on the radio, sharing updates. He claimed to have successfully made small objects and animals disappear and reappear. He even said he had traveled two years into the future and reappeared 800 miles away from home.
In 1997, Mike announced he was ready to travel through time himself. Then, one day, he disappeared without a trace. The mystery grew when people recalled an old crime case from the 1930s. A body that looked like Mike’s was found in California inside a strange metallic tube with a device resembling a mobile phone.
Mystery or Imagination?
Did Mike really travel through time and get stuck in the past? Or was it all just a story? This mystery leaves us with many questions. The idea of time travel is exciting but also puzzling.
What do you think about Mike Macken’s story? Did he really invent a time machine, or was it just a fantasy? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
