Unveiling the Mystery of Ya’juj and Ma’juj: The Hidden Wall of Dhul Qarnayn
Ya’juj and Ma’juj:
Ya’juj and Ma’juj are two names that sound harsh in Arabic. They come from the root word “ujaj,” which means dry and harsh. Another meaning is “al-aj,” which means a fast-approaching enemy. Ya’juj and Ma’juj are tribes of human beings that are very harsh and corrupt. When they emerge, they will come quickly, and people will have to run away from them.
They are mentioned in the story of a powerful and just king named Dhul Qarnayn. Dhul Qarnayn was a righteous and just Muslim king who traveled the world to establish justice. His kingdom was vast, covering almost the entire known world at the time.
Dhul Qarnayn and the Wall:
One of Dhul Qarnayn’s journeys took him to a place where the sun seemed to set in a murky pond. This doesn’t mean the sun actually set in water; it’s a way of saying he reached the farthest western point of his travels.
He found a primitive people there who asked for his help. They were troubled by the corruption and violence of Ya’juj and Ma’juj, who lived beyond two mountains. These people asked Dhul Qarnayn to build a barrier to protect them. Dhul Qarnayn agreed and built a strong wall using iron and molten copper. This wall was so strong that no one could break through it.
Dhul Qarnayn said this wall was a mercy from Allah. However, he warned that when Allah’s promise comes true, the wall will be destroyed, and Ya’juj and Ma’juj will be released. This will happen near the end of the world.
The Release of Ya’juj and Ma’juj:
When the wall is destroyed, Ya’juj and Ma’juj will come out. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said that they will emerge quickly and in large numbers. They will spread corruption and destruction on Earth.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) also said that for every person who enters Paradise, 999 will enter Hell, meaning the number of Ya’juj and Ma’juj is vast compared to the number of righteous people.
Events of the End Times:
During the end times, the Prophet Isa (Jesus) and his followers will be besieged by Ya’juj and Ma’juj. They will pray to Allah for help, and Allah will send a disease that will kill Ya’juj and Ma’juj. Their bodies will cover the Earth and emit a terrible stench.
Isa (peace be upon him) and his followers will then come down from their refuge and live in peace until the Day of Judgment.
